7 steps to a healthier you

We all want to be healthier, happier and have more energy. 
Unfortunately there are no real short-cuts or hacks to a healthier lifestyle. Like anything in life, that is worthwhile, it takes mindfulness, planning and a little bit of effort.

Here’s 7 steps to a healthier, happier and more energetic you:

Step #1: Why?
You need to know why you want to be healthier and happier and go deeper than just the superficial. Base you actions on your gut instinct, to get what you want and do what you feel is right for you. 


Using fat loss as a goal can be a great way of kick starting your 'Healthier You' campaign as it gets you focussing on better food and lifestyle choices but remember it is only one small aspect of a healthier you.

Step #2 Decide!
Deciding that you will do something is the key to success. Create a plan, don't allow excuses to disrupt your intent but also know that you are human and that there will be challenges and small hiccups along the way. 

Step #3 Accountability
Make yourself accountable for your actions. Sometimes the easiest way to do this is to become a part of or create a support network of people with similar aspirations. Meet with these people, share stories, discuss problems and even exercise together. 

Step #4 Balance
You need to find the right balance in your life with financial, work, family life, health and fitness all being stressors. You need to push hard by taking action but also pull back and find peace. Create boundaries that allow you to say 'No' to things that aren't right for you or your ambition.


Step #5 Nutrition
Simplify and save time with new and better food choices. Eat whole and fresh seasonal foods, preferably organic, and avoid processed and packaged foods. Speak about your food in a positive manner and you’ll grow to love the unadulterated flavour of real food. 


Whole, unprocessed and seasonal foods will give your body the nutrients it needs to function more efficiently, improving the way you feel, look and perform. 

Step #6 Fitness
Fitness is the foundation of everything in life and allows you to be active in all aspects of your life. 


Fitness creates confidence in how you look, how you feel about yourself, and slows the ageing process. 

Be consistent and try to exercise 3-5 times each week. For better results keep your exercise challenging and fun. It's also really important to vary the intensity of each session you do and not flog yourself every session.

Step #7 Passion
Have a passion in life and do the things you love and embrace the positive energy that this creates. Turn hobbies into careers or just find more time to do the things you love. Share these loves, passion is contagious and helps create the best version of you.
